East London’s coworking space for innovators

Plexal is filled with a huge variety of exciting companies and individuals at different stages of their journey. There’s always someone to talk to who is experiencing similar challenges or can offer advice and moral support. There are many companies that can become suppliers or customers here, so it’s a great ecosystem to be part of. In fact, we’re partnering with both Here East and Plexal itself! Plexal has even allowed us to test innovative technical ideas in the space for some of our customers.

Entering this space was possibly one of the best decisions we made as a founding team, as it has provided us with a fantastic workspace in which we’ve gone from strength to strength by firstly renting out hot desks, then fixed desks to now being in our very own private office overlooking Canalside.

The Plexal community has been vital for us as it’s allowed us to network with others and gain opportunities that we otherwise wouldn’t have had access to, including seeking advice and connections for investment opportunities. We definitely envision ourselves staying here for the foreseeable future.

At Love Language, we’ve sourced great benefit from our Plexal membership – namely the connections and partnerships we’ve formed as a result of having access to the established Plexal network of businesses.

Even during the testing times during the pandemic, we felt well looked after and Plexal’s managing director Andrew Roughan checked in regularly with our team and the office remained accessible.

Plexal is built perfectly for startups. The team understands exactly what’s required: a flexible, tailored and supported co-working space that allows us to grow and shrink where appropriate for opportunities.

We have worked in other coworking spaces where, because of our small team size, were treated second-class in place of larger companies. That hasn’t been the case here, and we’re now in position to grow 3-5x in the next nine months due to the support and enthusiasm we receive.

Most recently Plexal has been sensational to us during the pandemic and during another difficult moment we endured. They have really felt like an extension of our own team, supporting us to not just survive tough moments, but accelerating out of the other side.

It’s easy to feel isolated when working from home – especially if you live alone – but at Plexal there are always friendly, familiar faces to say hello to. The community team are lovely and always ready to chat.

It’s good to hang out with other entrepreneurs and businesses too. My company is very small and it’s useful to hear the experiences of those who have expanded from a small base. I’ve had informal tips from other members numerous times, such as on getting an intern, software for training and microphones to use for meetings.

The best thing about Plexal is the sense of community. Everyone is really friendly and approachable, which helped to make us feel welcome from the start. It’s a unique atmosphere. We missed it a lot during the lockdown period, but even as we worked remotely we felt supported. Plexal is great for networking, too. We’re part of the LORCA programme and have found the mentoring and support to be invaluable.

Since we joined Plexal around two years ago, Fiit has scaled our team from 14 people to over 40. Plexal was the perfect environment for Fiit to grow, thanks to the energy of a shared working space, the flexibility to grow, the connections with other startups and of course the support of the amazing community team.

We moved to Plexal so that our team can be part of a much wider community. The communal areas mean we have much more than just an office, with places to brainstorm and catch up, and private booths to have important private meetings. The events have enabled us to meet new partners within the building and give our staff a chance to meet new people outside of the team. The Plexal team is super friendly and the most accommodating that we have ever experienced. We feel like we have found a home that we can grow within and feel inspired to step our game up to the next level!

Moving to Plexal felt right from the moment we stepped into the building. As Film Locations grows and the demand for innovation continues in challenging times, we are thrilled to be working in a workspace designed to inspire. The excellent Plexal team, great facilities and exciting community of businesses have provided a forward-thinking environment that enables us to thrive.

We were fortunate enough to chance upon Plexal at Here East whilst visiting another office in the area, but thought that it would be far too expensive for us. Thankfully it wasn’t, as the hotdesking options were competitive and came with a whole raft of extra services and goodies (Thirsty Thursdays anyone?).

The facilities are second-to-none (bike room, showers, kitchen, table tennis, etc.) and the team that runs it has been amazing – friendly, professional, helpful and connected. They really set it apart and bring a true family atmosphere to the operation. We were lucky enough to grow through a couple of offices and they were always extremely supportive and flexible.

It’s a great place to connect, network and find new business partners, customers or employees. There really is no better place to start your business journey than Plexal!
